Colyers is an area and electoral ward in the London Borough of Bexley. It consists of parts of Barnehurst, Erith and Northumberland Heath.
Lessness Heath is a district in the London Borough of Bexley.
Originally called Danson Hill, the Palladian villa was designed by leading architect Sir Robert Taylor (architect of the Bank of England), and constructed c.1764-67 for sugar merchant and vice-chairman of the British East India Company, Sir John Boyd. It stood in over 600 acres (2.4 kmē) of pleasure grounds and agricultural estate - over 200 acres (0.8 kmē) of which today form Danson Park, the largest public park in the London Borough of Bexley. The landscape was designed and laid out by Nathaniel Richmond, assistant to Capability Brown from 1761 to 1763. At its centre is a large and picturesque 12 acre (49,000 mē) lake to the south of the house.
Wrotham was the first station in the UK to broadcast on VHF/FM, with three services beginning officially on 2 May 1955. It broadcast the Home Service (now Radio 4), the Third Programme (now Radio 3) and the Light Programme (now Radio 2). The frequencies it used for these programmes on FM in 1955 are still in use today. On 17 April 1966, it became the first BBC transmitter to broadcast in stereo, with regular stereo broadcasts on the Third Programme from July 1966. On 18 December 1970, it began broadcasting Radio Medway (now Radio Kent) on 97.0 MHz.
The house and grounds are open all year from 10am till 4pm on Mondays (except Bank Holiday Mondays), Tuesday and the first and second Saturdays of every month. The tea-room and shop are open all year from 10am till 3:30pm on Mondays (except Bank Holiday Mondays), Tuesdays and the first and second Saturdays of every month. The property is closed on 27th and 28th December. [3].
